Is my business considered a Small or Mid-size Business (SMB)?Although there are no definitive definitions of Small and Mid-size business, generally, Small and Mid-size Businesses (SMBs) are defined by their annual revenue, number of employees, and other criteria. If your business has fewer than 50 employees and generates annual revenue of less than $10 million, it is likely classified as a small business. If your business has less than 1,000 employees and generates annual revenue of less than $100 million, it is likely classified as a midsize business. Other things to consider may include: If you regularly hire family and friends, you are probably an SMB. If you provide personal guarantees for business loans or credit cards, you are probably an SMB. If you have purchased technology that you only use 50% of its true capacity, you may be an SMB. If a larger company started using your trademark and you couldn't afford to enforce the trademark you registered and paid for, you are probably an SMB. If you have an employee that thinks and acts like they are an owner, you are most definitely an SMB.
